Servant Leader

Aaron Ballou ...Technical, Audio, Visual

One of our Technical, Visual, and Audio Directors:

Aaron Ballou was born March 21, 1977 in Washington, DC. Growing up in a Christian family and going to church with his mother Christine Ballou, a Sunday School Teacher at the time was christened at an early age and went most of his youth.

Then at age 12 Aaron attended his first Vacation Bible School at Shell Point Baptist Church, where he went with his Grandmother, Frances Sweatt. He remembers it was on a Friday after a week of attending classes, having fun that he finally realized that he didnt want to go through this life alone. Aaron accepted Jesus into his life. Soon afterwards he was baptized in the Shallotte River. It was a brand new start on life. He continued to attend Camp United Methodist Church until he was 16.

After awhile the Sunday trips to church, the Wednesday trips to choir practice became sporadic. Even going to well known Christian Artist Concerts with his Aunt Diana just became sporadic. Aaron still believed but got out of going to church, the world started taking over and he started falling away. His friends were lost to by wayside, drugs, parties became his life, almost to the point of flunking out of high school his senior year.

This continued for many years, he even dropped out of college all together. The turning point for Aaron when someone he cared about almost lost his life to drugs. Around this time he meets his wife to be Beverly. What an inspiration, if not for Beverly, Aaron would not be back in church today. Aaron and Beverly were invited to a presentation by his Aunt Diana group called Anointed Vessels Ministry. They were going around to different churches sharing the gospel of Jesus through the performing arts. This blew Aaron away, for he had never experienced anything like this before. Aaron rededicated his life to Christ from that day and started attending church once again, and has been ever since.

Now Aaron uses what the Lord taught him about life in all the years away from him, to help others that maybe in the same boat he was in the years before. Aaron has been with Anointed Vessels Ministry now for 7 years and currently is one of our Servant Leaders. He combines his love for Jesus and his love for others to use his gifts and talents unto the Lord to bring others into the saving grace of Jesus Christ and gives all the Glory to Him that sits on the Throne that makes intersession for us. Its Jesus who brings us through trial after trial, to give us the strength to lead others out of the same path he brings us to. Aaron has been faithful young man and is truly a blessing to his Aunt Diana and his Uncle Leland. Aaron has the ability if he doesn’t know how to do something, he will learn. He is very knowledgeable in many areas and we are blessed to have him be a part of this ministry. Aaron is very creative; his mind is full of ideas, and knowledge how to do things. Aaron has his hands into everything, like a Jack of all trades.

Aaron and his wife, Beverly had tried to conceive a child for almost a year to no avail. Aaron had watch a film in which Jesus disciples had asked him why when they prayed for miracles to happen nothing ever did and Jesus in the movie instructed them to say the Lord’s Prayer. That very night Aaron watched this movie, as his wife was in the bed he placed his hands on her stomach and recited the Lords Prayer. He asked the Lord if it be His will for them to have a baby they were ready for a child. He asked if it was His will would he open her womb so that their dreams of a child would come true. Exactly two weeks to the day Aaron was at practice at Anointed Vessels Ministry when Beverly came pulled him aside and told him the good news. She told me she was pregnant. WHAT A MIRACLE! We were finally going to have the baby we wanted. On November 25, 2004 our Abigail Mae was born, our little miracle. We both give God all the Glory, she is a beautiful little princess.

Looking back its amazing that God had Aaron to work through all the different jobs, for training in the different areas to be used for Gods work, such as one being a stage hand at Brunswick Community College. Now God has called him into Anointed Vessels Ministry to use his gifts and talents for the Glory of God. When asked what his favorite scripture was, he said yes. What do you mean yes? His answer was all of them! Aaron loves the Word of God, how about you? Come be a part of this Mission here in Brunswick County, as it has touched my life so it will touch yours.
