Servant Leader

John Adam Vereen ...One of our Hospitality Directors:

John Adam Vereen is living proof that God is an Awesome God.

John was born in Loris, SC and was raise here in Brunswick County. At the age of 2 his father left the family so his mother, grandmother and great aunt raised John. At age 5 John was in a deadly car accident while being a passenger in the back seat, the other car hit him on the side he was sitting. This life we are living is not our own but Gods.

John was not a good teenager; in fact the teachers all hated him. He stayed in trouble all the time at school and got into a lot of fights. At age 16 he was in another deadly car accident, his fault for running a red light. With two deadly car accidents, John knew the Lord had his angels protecting him. When he turned 17 God had shown him a vision. He was at a cross roads. He had to make a decision. The Lord showed him the two different roads. If you go this way or that way, this is what is going to happen. That made an impact in his life. At age 18 while in the Job Corp he gave his life over to the Lord and never looked back. He stayed in Job Corp for 3 years in Kentucky and lived in Durham, NC for a year. He has lived here in Brunswick County ever since. No man regardless of intelligence, or money, or power, can add a single hour to his life. Again at the age of 32 John was in another deadly car accident where an 18 wheeler, tractor trailer log truck T-boned the car he was driving. That made 3 accidents that should have killed him, but it didnt. The hand of His Lord continued protecting him. Why? Whats the purpose? He wasn’t through with John. In all this and many more trials John has been through, this has made him the strong Christian he is today.

When told 2 years ago, that his leg was going to be amputated below his knee, this was another great testing time for John. He was disappointed when told but had been warned ahead of time by the Lord saying it was going to happen but it would not affect his work, only for a short time. He struggled with a few set back after surgery for he didnt know if more of his leg was going to have to be removed.

During his stay in the hospital and John going through this great test, friends, family, co-workers those who watched him go through this was amazed at his great faith. John was and is a very humble, hardworking, laid back, easy to get along with, the kind of guy who is faithful in everything he does. During this time of trial and testing he wasnt down for long. He was back up working like he lost nothing, in fact through his testimony, he strengthen many who watched him go through this unknowingly. He truly is a man you can see Jesus in and even though he seems very quiet, when given an opportunity to speak, you will find he is very intelligent on the Word of God. John goes to Seaside Christian Fellowship and was introduce to Anointed Vessels Ministry through Don Mentzer, his boss in landscaping. Working with each other, Don says John is a very loving, caring, and compassionate person, loves the Lord His God with everything in a quiet way. John has been with Anointed Vessels for 3 years now and is one of our Servant Leaders in Hospitality. Now when it comes to preparing a meal, watch out, John can get it done. The people in Anointed Vessels are the greatest assets, and John has contributed much to each of us and we love him dearly.

Even though John knows Anointed Vessels Ministry is on a Mission here in Brunswick County reaching out to many States around the Country, one of his greatest ambitions is to go on a foreign land Mission Trip. When asked where, he replied, anywhere. One day his opportunity will come, and John will go.

Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? Many would choose not to believe in Jesus and would therefore fail to receive the Lords salvation, but I John pray for everyone to come to the saving knowledge and grace of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His love for us is beyond measure, and He proves it every day when he wakes us up. I thank my Heavenly Father for who He is to me and he is welcome to keep His hand upon my life until I take my last breath. How about you? Do you know him?
